A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make this afternoon’s sponsored hymn sing such a success. The twenty-four hymns (chosen randomly from the 50 nominated) were sung with gusto, and at present the total raised in support of Adrian and Jane Shutt (CMS mission partners at Kisiizi Hospital, Uganda), stands at £298.34. (Update 26th June: now over £300.)

There has been a wonderful response to the sponsored hymn sing, with 64 nominations in total received, for 50 different hymns. We won’t have time to sing all 50 nominations but do come along this Sunday, 24th June from 3.00-4.45pm and join us in singing as many of our favourite hymns as can.
Proceeds are going to support Adrian and Jane Shutt, CMS mission partners working at Kisiizi Hospital, Uganda. £130 has been raised so far; if you have not already given, there will be an opportunity to do so on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday 2nd June saw the second Hatchford Brook Churches Together prayer walk. Starting and finished at St. Mary’s, Hobs Moat, the walkers visited all the Hatchford Brook churches and stopped to pray at each and at other locations around the route, notably Land Rover.
Rod Janes has kindly sent a number of photographs taken during the day.

St Stephen’s Church Centre and Community Hall in Coppice Road is 40 years old this year. A cause for celebration, yes, and on Sunday 8 July that will happen. However its 40th year may be its last, unless major repairs are done to the roof. To put it quite simply, it needs a new one, and soon. (more…)
