St Stephen’s Church Centre Appeal
St Stephen’s Church Centre and Community Hall in Coppice Road is 40 years old this year. A cause for celebration, yes, and on Sunday 8 July that will happen. However its 40th year may be its last, unless major repairs are done to the roof. To put it quite simply, it needs a new one, and soon. There will not be many of the local people in Elmdon Heath, Damsonwood, Hampton Coppice and Whar Hall who have not had some contact with the Hall at some time over the last 40 years. You may have played badminton there. You may have been to Playgroup. You may have been to Toddler Group. You may have attended the clinic, or youth club, or dance classes, or Yoga, or Karate. You may have been in The Boys’ Brigade or The Girls’ Brigade. You may have been to church there, been baptised there, or confirmed. You may have supported the Fete and the Bazaar, where you may have met Father Christmas!
The Committee are asking the residents for their support to save their community hall. We need to raise £15,000 to pay for a new roof, so that this valuable community asset can continue to function and serve as it has done so well for the last 40 years.
Will you help us? We hope you will. All donations are welcome, however small, however large. You can pay directly into our St Stephens Hall Users Roof Appeal account through any HSBC branch, A/C 40-11-24 71237128, or by electronic payment via Internet banking. If you prefer, you can send a cheque, payable to St Stephens Hall Users, to The Treasurer, 7 Alderdale Crescent, Solihull, B92 9QF.
