Following the cake sale last week £202 was sent to Tearfund. Their thank you email says:
Thank you so much, on behalf of those who are benefiting, for your gift of £202.00 which will bring life-saving help to people affected by flooding in Pakistan. Staff from Tearfund partner SSEWA-Pak are distributing food, including a month’s worth of sugar, rice, flour and beans to some of the most vulnerable families in the southern Punjab and lower Sindh. They are also providing basic cooking utensils, plastic sheeting for shelter, and health and hygiene kits. SSEWA-Pak aims to help around 7000 individuals in Sindh Province who have been devastated by the floods. Our work with affected communities will continue into the future, helping them recover, rebuild homes and livelihoods and prepare for future crises.
Please pray for the people affected by this disaster. Pray that those who have lost loved ones, friends and neighbours will know the Lord’s comfort. Pray for the rain and flood waters to relent, and for rescue and humanitarian efforts to reach those in need quickly.
